Code and contributions
The public repository has not been connected yet. The source map below explains the current review bundle; feedback drafts can still be copied.
WuWa VR is an experimental integration built on UEVR and community WuWa work. Help with rendering, camera behavior, controller comfort, documentation and translations is welcome. A donation is never required to contribute.
Find the right starting point
The public repository contains the website, matching native source changes, Lua, language catalogs and launcher.
| Folder | Contents |
|---|---|
| mod/uevr | Modified native files: stereo/UI hooks, camera settings and portal |
| mod/lua | Camera, controller, head hiding and shadow scripts |
| mod/source-changes | Full patches against the pinned upstreams |
| mod/localization | Editable controls and shortcut translations |
| launcher/dev | Portable launcher, capture and SteamVR recording source |
Reconstruct the release
The public source overlay now matches the 28 Sep 16:28 experimental candidate. Build instructions and pinned upstreams. The older beta's matching source remains at its release tag.
95 changed native paths and two SDK paths were reconstructed from pinned upstream files plus the frozen patches. This is not a new full rebuild or live acceptance. The new candidate adds trigger input and dormant inventory tooling; its carried-forward camera change still needs an ultimate test.
Remaining work
Foliage/prop animation and visibility, some lighting, and ultimate transitions remain open. Main Resonators reflection improved; lower/weapon submenu offsets and freezing are deferred. NSF repaired reported character materials in user testing, with timing corrections in newer profiles.
Read the evidence, unsuccessful experiments, code map and next steps. Follow the settings supplied with your chosen package; older beta instructions are not the new candidate's defaults.
A useful report or pull request
State what happened, what you expected, and the shortest reproduction. Include the build name/time, headset/runtime, controller connection, camera mode, character/menu, and whether a setting or Alt-Tab changes it. A single-eye or SBS crop can be useful; label which eye is affected. Review clips for account IDs before sharing. Do not upload whole logs or memory captures by default.
Search existing issues first. Add new evidence to a matching report instead of creating another report for the same symptom. The website's feedback form prepares a draft for you to review and submit on GitHub; it sends nothing by itself. A GitHub account is required to submit there. Copying the draft also works for a community discussion.
Small fixes and forks are welcome where each component's terms allow them. Credit upstream authors and describe what was actually tested. See the credits and contribution guide.
Contributing
This is a free, unofficial fan project. You do not need to donate, write code or speak English to contribute. Clear bug reports, translations, comfort feedback and small fixes all help. Volunteers are welcome; response times and continued maintenance are not guaranteed.
Report something or request a language
Use Feedback on the website for a bug, feature, accessibility or language request. Describe the problem in the language you prefer. The form prepares a GitHub issue for you to review; it never posts automatically. GitHub sign-in is needed to submit there. You can also copy the report as plain text.
Until the owner connects the public repository, the website clearly offers copy-only drafts. It does not pretend your request has been sent. On GitHub, choose New issue and the matching template. Do not include account IDs, personal paths, login details or unreviewed logs. A short description and the build/runtime are usually enough to start.
Translations
Getting started, common Xbox shortcuts, feedback and support expectations are available in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Russian and Arabic. These are initial translations and community language review is welcome. The full technical guide and native UEVR interface remain English; game language is not changed.
Edit the appropriate site/languages/*.js source and run
node dev/build-community.cjs. Each translated phrase has the same key as the
English reference. Keep exact in-game option names and Xbox button names
unchanged so players can find them. Do not add a remote translation service.
Right-to-left languages use dir="rtl"; controller chords remain left-to-right.
Test keyboard use, small screens, long labels and the copy/report flow.
Code, forks and sharing
Keep a fix small, describe the actual problem and include how you checked it. Distinguish offline tests from game/headset acceptance. Preserve existing attribution. The scoped license identifies original MIT work; do not relicense upstream code or publish private runtime/game data.
Fork and improve the MIT-covered parts freely. Please keep community access free, share improvements and avoid sold repacks or paywalled forks. That is our community preference, not a restriction added to MIT: commercial use is allowed by MIT. Public combined-mod redistribution still needs the upstream scope clarified. Nothing in this project requires payment to report a bug, ask for a language or contribute.
